In the interest of the service and in view of the need for the Department and its
services, bureaus, attached agencies, and regional offices to effectively utilize their
information, education and communication (IEC) materials, the following guidelines are
hereby adopted to establish a DOLE Corporate Identity:
1. Rationale/Background
To positively influence in the strongest and most effective way the public’s
perception of the Department, the DOLE, as an organization, and the offices under
it, shall adopt and use only the official corporate symbol/iogo, colors, sizes,
typefaces, and proper presentation of symbols/logos subject to the policies and
guidelines herein provided.
Ml. General Guidelines
This order to adopt and use the official DOLE symbol/logo, colors, sizes, typefaces,
and the proper presentation of symbols/logos shall cover all DOLE services,
attached agencies, bureaus, and regional offices that produce and utilize the use of
IEC materials in their operations.
Hl, Specific Guidelines for Corporate Identity
A. The DOLE Symbol/Logo
The correct and official DOLE logo is that which is an equilateral triangle, with a
circle inscribed at the triangle’s midpoint. The circle should be bisected by a
thick, white, diagonal line (space) extending from the bottom to the right of the
triangle to form a larger (blue) triangle and a smaller (red) triangle.
Inside the triangle are three stars in an upright triangular formation concentric to
the circle. The formation and proportion must be given particular attention to
ensure that the logo is presented in a proper manner (see Annex A).
The appropriate color type to be used in the logo will depend on the intended
reproduction of the logo. The CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) logo shall
be used for print applications where the logo is to be reproduced with a mix of
the four process colors, namely: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black,
The PMS (Pantone Matching System) logo shall be used if the logo is to be
reproduced in print applications requiring processed colors. The RGB (Red,
Green, Blue) logo shall be used in applications that either exist only on-screen or
will be produced via photographic techniques (such as for slide presentation)
(See Annex D)..

In more formal use, the official DOLE logo can also be embossed using a dry
seal. However, the logo must conform in size, proportion and manner of
presentation as those in print applications.

The Master Brand or Trademark of the DOLE shall be made up of its official
symbol or logo and its official corporate typeface. Two versions can be adopted
for the Master Brand or Trademark—the colored and the uncolored version. A
third version, also uncolored, which the DOLE and its services, bureaus,
attached agencies and regional offices, may also adopt, is that where the official
DOLE logo is embossed using a dry seal (see Annex C). The proportions,
spacing, relative positioning, and color should remain consistent.
Colors of the Master Brand
‘The official DOLE Master Brand or Trademark shall utilize six colors,
specifically: (PMS color) Pantone Blue 072; (PMS color) Pantone Red 032; (PMS
color) Pantone Yellow 012; (PMS color) Black; (PMS color) Cool Grey 8 CVU;
and (PMS color) Cool Grey 4 CVU (see Annex D for specifications).
Presentation
‘The presentation of the DOLE Master Brand or Trademark has been designed
vvisavis the agency, service, or bureau Master Brand or Trademark, with specific
measurements and proportions to be strictly followed to ensure and maintain
visual balance (see Annex 6).
‘The DOLE symbol or logo shall occupy the leftmost corner of the presentation
while the symbol or logo of its agency, service, or bureau shall occupy the
rightmost portion. Both logos should be of the same size.
The typeface of the country (ie. Republic of the Philippines) shall appropriately
be in capital and lower cases. The DOLE typeface (spelled out) shall all be in
capital case and bold. Immediately below it is the service's, bureau's, or
agency's typeface appropriately in capital and lower cases, bold, and two points
smaller in size than the official DOLE typeface.
For the office address of the service, bureau, or agency, the typeface to be used
shall be regular and two points smaller in size than the service's, bureau's, or
agency’s name typeface. The DOLE services, bureaus, and attached agencies,
are only allowed to use any ofIV. Specific Guidelines for Production of Selected IECs
A. Brochure
The DOLE, its services, bureaus, and attached agencies shall adopt only the
official size of 8.5 by 13 inches or 215 by 330 millimeters for all brochure
publications. A brochure can be straight, back-to-back, or two-fold, as long as it
does not exceed the official size provided herein.
The brochure must contain the official DOLE Master Brand or Trademark and
that of the service’s, bureau's, or agency’s producing the brochure (see Annexes
1-A and 1-8). There are only three presentations allowed for the DOLE Master
Brand or Trademark and the service’s, bureau's, or agency’s Master Brand or
‘Trademark:
Uppermost portion in upright position on the front page of the brochure (see
Annex 1-Al;
2. Uppermost portion in upright position on the first page of a twofold
brochure (see Annex 1-A); or
3. The DOLE Master Brand or Trademark at the uppermost portion in upright
position on the first page of a two-fold brochure and the Master Brand or
Trademark of the service, bureau, or agency at the lowermost portion at the
back or last page of a two-fold brochure (see Annex 1-B).
8B. Handbook and Primer
All DOLE handbooks and primers, whether produced by the DOLE proper or by
its services, bureaus, or attached agencies, shall adopt the official size of 6 1/8
by 8 1/2 inches or 155 by 215 millimeters. The DOLE Master Brand or
Trademark and that of the producing service's, bureau's, or agency's shall
always be placed on top, uppermost portion of the front cover of the handbook
‘or primer (see Annex 2).
C. Newsletter
The official size of all DOLE newsletters, including those of its services, bureaus,
and attached agencies, shall be 9 by 12 inches or 229 by 305 millimeters. The
DOLE Master Brand or Trademark and that of the producing service’s, bureau’s,
or agency's shall be placed on top of the newsletter’s masthead. The masthead
may be placed either at dead center in the uppermost portion of the front cover
or at the leftmost, upper portion of the newsletter, with the DOLE Master Brand
‘or Trademark, along with the producing office’s Master Brand or Trademark
adjusted appropriately (see Annex 3).
D. Poster
For easy identification, all DOLE posters, including those ofits services, bureaus,
and attached agencies, shall adopt the official size of 18 by 24 inches or 457 by
610 millimeters. The Master Brands or Trademarks of both the DOLE and ite
Producing service, bureau, or attached agency shall appear prominently in the
Poster, either at the uppermost or lowermost portions of the poster (see Annex
4).E. Business/Calling Card
All business or calling cards produced by the DOLE and its services, bureaus,
and attached agencies for their officials and employees shall follow the official
size of 2 by 3 1/2 inches or 50.5 by 89 millimeters. The DOLE Master Brand or
‘Trademark and that of the producing office’s shall be displayed at the uppermost
portion of the card (see Annex 5).
F. Handout
DOLE handouts, including those published by its services, bureaus, and attached
agencies, shall adopt the official size of 8 1/2 by 11 inches or 215 by 280
millimeters. The official DOLE Master Brand or Trademark and that of the
producing service’s, bureau's, or agency’s, should always appear at the
uppermost portion of the first page of the handout (see Annex 6).
G. Stationery
Stationery produced by DOLE or its services, bureaus, or attached agencies shall
follow the official size of 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches or 140 by 215 millimeters. The
official DOLE Master Brand or Trademark and that of the producing service's,
bureau's, or agency’s should always appear at the uppermost portion of the
stationery (see Annex 7).
H, Print Advertisement
All DOLE advertisements in print form, whether in horizontal or vertical layout,
shall have the DOLE Master Brand or Trademark and that of the service's,
bureau's, or attached agency’s where the ad is attributed. The Master Brands or
‘Trademarks may either appear in the uppermost or lowermost portions of the
layout. The size of the print ads may vary in size or layout orientation (see
Annex 8).
1. Comics
All DOLE ses that utilize comics as |EC material shall follow the official size
of 7 by 10 1/2 inches or 178 by 267 millimeters. The DOLE Master Brand or
Trademark and that of the producing office’s Master Brand or Trademark shall be
displayed at the lowermost portion of the front cover of the publication (see
Annex 9).
J. Folder Jacket
Folder jackets produced by the DOLE and its services, bureaus, and attached
agencies, shail adopt the official size of 8 1/2 by 12 inches or 215 by 305
millimeters. The Master Brand or Trademark of both the DOLE and its
producing service, bureau, or attached agency shall appear prominently in the
front cover of the folder jacket, either at the uppermost or lowermost portions of
the material (see Annex 10).
K. Book and Journal
Books and journals published by the DOLE or any of its services, bureaus, and
attached agencies, may adopt sizes or layout orientations that are appropriate forFH e ~
printing. However, the DOLE Master Brand or Trademark as well as that of the
producing service’s, bureau’s, or agency's should appear in the front cover of the
book or journal. The said Master Brands or Trademarks may be displayed either
in the uppermost or lowermost portions of the front cover, regardless of the type
of layout orientation applied (see Annex 11).
L. Envelope (all sizes)
All envelopes printed or produced by the DOLE and its services, bureaus, and
attached agencies, regardless of size (letter or brown envelopes) shall have the
official DOLE Master Brand or Trademark and the service's, bureau's, or
agency’s Master Brand or Trademark printed at the upper, leftmost portion of the
envelopes (see Annex 12).
M. Video Materials
‘Audio-video materials such as corporate videos, slides presentation, training
modules, CD brochures, and similar materials produced by the DOLE and its
services, bureaus, and attached agencies must carry the DOLE symbol or logo
and Master Brand or Trademark, including that of the producing DOLE office.
The DOLE symbol or logo shall appear in the opening sequence of the audio-
video material and first in order of appearance before the symbol or logo of the
producing DOLE office. The appearance of the DOLE symbol or logo and
‘Master Brand or Trademark can be repeated at the end or closing portion of the
material, the length of exposure of which should follow normal reading time.
IV. Adoption and Use of the Official DOLE Symbol or Logo and Master Brand or
‘Trademark For Other IEC Products and Materials
All DOLE offices, services, bureaus, and attached agencies must adopt and use the
official DOLE symbol or logo and Master Brand or Trademark alongside their
respective Master Brand or Trademark in other IEC products/tems and materials
such as souvenirs and corporate giveaways, including ad cubes, pens or pencils;
‘mugs, umbrellas, t-shirts; caps; calendars; and streamers or banners.
V. Monitoring
Compliance with the prescribed guidelines provided in this Order shall be closely
monitored by the Information and Publication (IPS) of this Department through a
ew inventory of IEC materials to be done six months after the effectivity of this
order.
All heads of concerned offices are directed to supervise the implementation of the
guidelines set herein or assign their designated Labor Information Officers (LIOs) to
ensure that this Order is followed.
