Lily and Jack went to the City Zoo last Saturday with their grandparents.
Grandpa liked the monkeys at the zoo most of all. But Lily wanted to see
the huge elephants. ‘Let’s do that first!’ she said.
‘Well, I want to go and see some really tall giraffes!’ said Jack. ‘Can we do
that, Grandma?’

‘Well, let’s stop and watch the penguins before that,’ Grandma
answered. ‘I think they are the funniest animals in the world! Look!
There they are!’
Lily and Jack laughed a lot at the penguins and a man who worked at
the zoo saw them. ‘Can you help me to feed them?’ he asked. ‘They’re
very hungry!’
‘Wow! Yes, please!’ the children answered.
‘Can I help you, too?’ asked Grandma.
‘Yes!’ the zoo man said.

It was fun to feed the penguins. Grandpa filmed them and the zoo man
taught the children all the penguins’ names.
Then Grandma looked at her watch. ‘Oh dear! It’s four o’clock! We have
to go home again, now!’
Grandpa didn’t see the monkeys that day and Lily and Jack didn’t see
the elephants and the giraffes but Grandma said: ‘Well, we can come
back again on Monday morning!’
