Things you can count directly include nouns that represent items,
situations, events, and conditions.
Things you cannot count directly include nouns that represent liquids,
substances, chemicals, gases, personal traits, and feelings.
FORM:
COUNT USE “A” & “AN” BEFORE THE NOUN.
NON-COUNT DOESN’T USE ANYTHING BEFORE THE NOUN.
MEANING:
THE USE OF A QUANTIFIER (“A”, “AN”, “BOTTLE OF”, “KILO OF”, “SOME”)
INDICATES A QUANTITY. SOME NOUNS DO NOT USE QUANTIFIERS.
USE:
YOU USE COUNT & NON-COUNT NOUNS IN ANY CONVERSATION OR
WRITING. FOR COUNT NOUNS, IT IS CLEAR YOU ARE REFERRING TO ONE
THING, SITUATION, EVENT OR CONDITION.

a count noun.
• Think of 10 things to say about
the count-noun in 30 seconds.
• Say everything you can about
the count-noun for 30 seconds.
