Narration Script 1

GOLDEN CUCUMBER

Once upon a time, there was a widow named mbokSirni who lived alone, because there was no
one on her side, she felt and dreamed of the presence of the child. She said at heart “when I have
a child, I am tired of live alone.” And she called BUTO IJO.

Mboksirni : It has been a long time I haven’t got a child, (she clacks her hand and giant is
coming)

ButoIjo : ha... Ha... Ha... Why you call me..?

Mboksirni : I’m sorry , but I come here because I have one request to you.

ButoIjo : a request? What is?

MbokSirni : It has been a long time I haven’t a child. Can you help me?

ButoIjo : To have a child? It’s easy for me. And of course I can help you, but you have
to promise me. If you have a child, you must give me when your child grew up.

Mboksirni :Emm… yeah.. I agree

ButoIjo : Ok. This is the cucumber seeds. And ifthe cucumbers are already ripe. Pick
them and crack. So, you have a new child.

Mboksirni : Yes. Thank you

Two weeks passed and the cucumber started to bear fruits, but there was one which was large
and shined like gold. MbokSirni picked the large cucumber and splinted it carefully. And it
appeared that there was a cute baby was named timunemas. Timunemas grew up. Butoijo went
to timunemas hut and asked mboksirni’s promise

ButoIjo : where is your child?

Mboksirni : She is playing with her friend outside

ButoIjo : Don’t lie! You must keep your promise!

Mboksirni : But she is really playing with her friends!!

ButoIjo : Ok. But you must call her now!!

Mother : yeah... I’ll do it… I’ll do it for you…

Few minutes later, in friend timunemas’ home

Mboksirni : Timunemas... I want to say important matter to you

Timunemas : What is mom?

Mboksirni : Actually, before you were born I have one promise to butoijo.

TimunEmas : Butoijo? Who is butoijo mom?

MbokSirni : He is an evil giant who helped me to have a child. I made a promise with him
that when you grew up, I would give you to him. Now you must run far from here and I give
you four small packages contain cucumber seeds, needles, salt and shrimp paste. I will pray for
your safety from the giant. Now, run... Run as far as you can...

Mboksirni :Butoijo, timunemas is not anywhere.

Giant : Don’t lie again..!!!

And then butoijo saw timunemas running to the woods. Butoijo was very angry.

ButoIjo : There is timunemas, don’t run!

He rushed toward timunemas. Mboksirni tried to stop him of course, but butoijo was
unstoppable.

Butoijo was getting closer and closer, so timunemas took the first thing she got from mboksirni.
It is a cucumber seeds. She threw the seeds, and instantly they grew into large cucumber field.
Butoijo eat them all, give him more strength. As butoijo was getting close. Timunemas took the
second thing was about needles and then she spilled the needles. It turned into bamboo trees,
sharp and thorny. The giant’s body was scratched and belt.

ButoIjo : Aaaaargh, I’ll get you timunemas..!!

ButoIjo tried to get himself out from the bamboo field.

Timunemas then reached the third and spilled the salt. The ground which was full of the salt
turned into a deep sea. Butoijo almost drown and had to swim to cross the sea. After that, he got
out from the water. Timunemas saw butoijo coming closer again, so she reached the last thing.
She took the shrimp paste and threw it. It became a big swamp of boiling mud. Slowly but surely
butoijo drowned into the swamp.

Giant : Heeeelp... Heeelp…

Then the giant drown and died. Immediately timunemas went home. Since then, timunemas and
mboksirni live happily ever after.
Narration Script 2

Cinderella
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl named Cinderella. She lived with her
stepmother and two her stepsisters. They treated Cinderella very badly. Cinderella was
treated as a servant, she cleaned the house, washed the clothes, washed the dishes, and all
the house work.
One day in the morning.
Drizella : Cinderella. Where is our breakfast. I’m hungry now.
Anastasia : Hurry up. We are hungry.
Cinderella : Wait a minute Drizella, Anastasia. I’m preparing it.
Lady : Hurry up or I will hit you.
Cinderella : I’m sorry mother. This is the breakfast.
(After breakfast)
Lady : Clean up the table Cinderella. We finish here.
Anastasia : and then you should wash my clothes.
Drizella : My clothes too. Be clean or I will ask you to wash it twice.

Cinderella : (sit in the kitchen and crying) O God, why this can happen to me.
Anastasia : (calling from her bedroom). Ugly Cinderella. Come here and comb my hair.
Cinderella : Yes Anastasia. I will come. (Cinderella came and combed Anastasia’s hair)
Drizella : Then, you should comb my hair.
Cinderella : Ok Drizella, after this I will comb your hair.
In the evening. Cinderella was cooking at the kitchen for the dinner.
Drizella : Hurry up ugly Cinderella. What are you doing?
Anastasia : I’m hungry mom. She is too slow.
That was how Cinderella did everyday . She was treated like a servant and she slept in the
kitchen
One day, a Duke from the palace came to their home.
Duke : Excuse me. Please gather here all the people in this house.
(Cinderella’s stepmother and stepsisters gathered near the duke but Cinderella listened
from the kitchen)
Duke : I want to announce that our King will hold a ball for the Prince. All the Girls are
invited to the ball. It will be held two days later. The prince will choose his
brid there.
After giving the announcement,
Drizella : Mom, let’s go to the ball and I will be the prince bride.
Anastasia : No, I will be the bride. I’m more beautiful than you.
Lady : Calm down my daughters. We will go to the ball. But we need a dress.
Drizella : Ask Cinderella to buy it mom.
Lady : Cinderella. Cinderella. Come here now.
Cinderella : Yes mother.
Lady : Go and buy the best dress for Anastasia and Drizella. This is the money. You
should come back before the dinner.
Drizella : I want the yellow dress.
Anastasia : I want the red dress.
Cinderella : Yes mom.
On the night before the ball.
Drizella : Cinderella. Come here and comb my hair, hurry up.

Cinderella : Actually, I want to go to the ball. But, I don’t have a dress and my stepmother
forbid me to go.
Fairy : Don’t be afraid I will help you.
The fairy waved her magic wand and made Cinderella have a very beautiful dress and a
pair of glass shoes. She also made six mice to be a horse and two coachmen, and changed
the pumpkin into a coach.
Fairy : Cinderella. you can go now, but remember, the magic only last until midnight.
you should come home before then.
Cinderella : Ok fairy. Thank you.
When Cinderella came to the ball, all the people surprised because of her beauty. When the
prince saw her, he came and asked Cinderella to dance with him. It made all the people in
the hall were very jealous.
The Prince : O beautiful girl. You want to dance with me.
Cinderella : Yes prince.
Prince : You’re so beautiful, what is your name young lady?
Cinderella : My name is. . .
Suddenly Cinderella saw the big clock showed that it was nine to twelve in the midnight.
She suddenly ran.
Cinderella : I’m sorry prince, I should go now.
Prince : Wait. . . wait . . please tell me your name.
Cinderella ran fast and made one of her glass shoe left. Cinderella has left the palace.
Prince : I have to find her. . pick up the glass shoe).
After the ball finished.
Prince : Duke, I want you to find her. Use this glass shoe to find her.
Duke : You want me to go around the kingdom prince?
Prince : Please Duke, you should find her for me.
Duke : Yes Prince, As you wish.
Duke came to every house and asked every girl to try the glass shoe, but no one could wear
it because it was very small. Finally, the Duke came to Cinderella house.
Duke : I’m here as the prince want to meet the girl who own this glass shoe. I want all
the girls try to wear this shoe.
Anastasia : I’m the first.
Drizella and Anastasia could not wear the shoe. The duke was almost desperate he saw
Cinderella was peeking from the kitchen.
Duke : Who is she?
Lady : She is our servant.
Duke : Call her, I want her to try.
Drizella : No. It must not her.
Duke : Call her, I do this for the prince. I want all the girls to try. Come here little girl.
Try this shoe.
Cinderella : Yes Sir.
When Cinderella put that glass shoe into her foot, it fit on her. Suddenly the fairy came and
changed Cinderella dress as she wore at the ball.
Duke : Yes, the prince will be very happy. Wait here. I will call the prince. He is in the
coach.
The Prince came to the house.
Prince : Finally, I can find you. Tell me your name beautiful lady.
Cinderella : Cinderella. My name is Cinderella my prince.
Prince : Would you go to the palace with me. I want to introduce you to my father and
mother.
Drizella : It is impossible.
Anastasia : I can’t believe it, the prince looking for this girl.
Finally, the prince brought Cinderella to the palace and married her there. They lived
happily ever after. But Cinderella also brought her stepmother and stepsisters to the
palace with her. They became a good mother and sister to Cinderella.
Narration Script 2

MalinKundang

Once upon a time, there lived an old woman with her son, named Malin. They
lived suffered and hanged in the forest.

Mom : “Malin, come here son, help me to carry these firewood.”

Malin : “Yes mom, wait a minute.” (Malin helped his mother)
Malin : “Mom, Why are we always poor??? I want something new that can
make us become rich.
Mom : “I don’t know Malin, we must be patient and don’t stop praying to
God.”
Malin : “Mom, I have an idea, would you let me go away to change my
fortune?? Who knows I will be a rich man.”

Malin and his mother came back to home, but his Mother just kept silent about
his idea

Malin : “Mom, how about my idea?”

Mom : “I think it’s not good idea my son, because if you go, who will watch

me here, don’t you love me, Malin.”

Malin : Just relax mom, I will talk to Dayat, Dayat will watch you until I come

back.”

Malin’s mother couldn’t forbid what Malin wanted. So, She agreed with Malin’s
idea.

Mom : “Alright, if this is your decision, I will permit you to go Malin! But

don’t forget me, and remember your promise.”

Malin went to Dayat's house to ask him to watch Malin’s mother until he came
back

Dayat : “What is going on, Malin?”

Malin : “Tomorrow I will go away to change my fortune.”
Dayat : “What? if you go, who will watch your mother here?.”
Malin : “For this I come to you, I want you to watch my mother until I come

back, please.”
Dayat : “Yes, certainly. My message for you, don’t forget us here, Malin.”

next day, Malin’s mother accompanied her son to the harbour…

Mom : ” Take care yourself, and you must hurry to come back!
Malin : ” Yes mom, please pray for me, so I can be a rich man. and you Dayat
Please take care my mother until I come back.”
Dayat : “Don’t worry Malin. I promise, I will take care your mother. Be

careful.”
Mom : “good bye my son.”
Dayat : “Good bye, Malin.”

Finally, Malin went for sailing with a rich man. In the ship, the Captain gave
him a job as crew, and Malin received it. The captain had a beautiful daughter.
Malin : “She is very beautiful. I like her and I must marry her. If that

something happen, I will be a rich man.”

Ningrum : “Hay, do you see my dad?
Malin : “Ehmmmmm, I don’t know. Maybe he is in the kitchen.”
Ningrum : “Thanks for your information.”
Malin : “You’re welcome.”

In the village, mom was very concerned about Malin’s life. And mom was
afraid if Malin didn’t come back.

Mom : “Dayat, where is Malin? I miss my son. I am afraid if Malin don’t come

back.”
Dayat : “Don’t be afraid, Mom. Malin will come back. He had promised to

come back. Be patient, Mom. I’m here for you. Don’t be afraid.”
Mom : “Yes, Dayat.”

One day, the captain called Malin, and he would promote Malin’s job as
captain in that ship. A few years later, Malin has become a rich man.

Ship owner : “Ehmmm, you work well, anything that you do is awesome. What is
your name? How long have you been working here?
Malin : “My name is Malin sir. I have been working here for 2 years.
Ship owner : “It’s quite long. Ok, because work well here, I will raise your job
become captain in this ship.
Malin : “Are you sure sir? Thanks sir, thanks.
Ship owner : “Okay, started from tomorrow you will be a captain in this ship.

A few months later, Malin wanted to get Ningrum, and he wanted Ningrum to
be his girlfriend.

Malin : “Now, I’m a rich man, I can buy everything that I want to have.

Ningrum : “Is there something funny? Why are laughing?
Malin : “No, I’m just happy. Ningrum, may I ask you something?”
Ningrum : “Sure,

Dayat always gave support for Malin’s mom that Malin would come back and
be a rich man.

get any news about Malin.”

After Malin has become a rich man, Malin married with the captain’s daughter,
Ningrum. They were very happy, and were romantic couple.

Malin : Hello, my honey, what are you thinking about?

Ningrum : My husband, shall we go on trip to an island for honeymoon?
Malin : That’s good idea my wife, how about DuaAngsa Island?
Ningrum : Okay my husband, I agree with you!
Malin : we will start tomorrow.

Next day Malin and his wife sailed to DuaAngsa Island. On their way, Malin’s
ship stopped in an island to refill their fuel supplies. Fortunately, that Island
was Malin’s village. When arrived there, Malin went out from his ship. And
Dayat saw Malin at the harbour.

Dayat : “ Malin… Is that Malin? Yeah, that’s Malin. I must tell it to his

mother.”

Dayat went to mom’s house to tell her about Malin’sComing back.

Dayat : “Mom…Mom…”
Mom : “I’m here Dayat.”
Dayat : “Mom, Malin is coming back. He has become a rich man now!”
Mom : “Are you sure that he is Malin ?”
Dayat : “Yes, I’m sure mom

Mom : “If you are right, please accompany me to go there.”

Dayat accompanied Malin’s mother to her son. When reached there, Malin’s
mother met her son.

Mom : “Malin… Malin my son! Malin….”

Ningrum : “Who is that old woman, my husband?”

(Malin can’t answer Ningrum’s question)

Ningrum : “Who is she, my husband?”

Mom : “Malin, who is she? Is she your wife? She is very beautiful, come
here…!
Ningrum : “Argh, don’t touch me!”
Mom : “Malin, my son. Do you remember your promise? I’m your mother!”
Malin : “Who are you poor old woman? I don’t know you. My mother isn’t
dirty like you…!!
Mom : “Malin… I’m your mother. I have revealed and raised you. Malin…
Malin…!”
Ningrum : “Hei you, go away now.”
Mom : “Malin… Malin…!”
Malin : “Go away… Go away now!”

(After pushing his mother away, Malin came back to his ship)

you say that? I can’t take his anymore. I curse you… Turn into a stone…!!!

Malin : What’s happening? My body… I can’t move! Mom… I’m sorry mom…
I’m sorry…!!!
Ningrum : What’s happening…?? What’s happening to you, my husband?
Why…??!!MALINNNNNNN!!!!!

And Malin became a stone when he was begging to his mother. Ship, crew and
his wife sunk down to bottom of the sea. That’s result if we are rebellious to
our parents especially to our mother
