The Great Kapok Tree

Cut the pieces of the story out and glue them in the correct order as they happened in the story.

The jaguar told man, “The Kapok tree is home to

many birds and animals. If you cut it down,
where will I find my dinner?”

The porcupine told the man, “If you cut down the
forests you will destroy that which gives us life.”

A man walked into the rain forest.

The man dropped the axe and walked out of the

Rain Forest

A boa said to the man, “This tree is my home. Do

not chop it down.”

The anteater said, “You are chopping down this

tree with no thought for the future.”
A toucan told the man, “You must not cut down
this tree. Once you begin to chop down the
trees. The forest will disappear.”

The child whispered to the man, “When you

awake, please look upon us all with new eyes.”

The man fell asleep by the tree.

A bee told the man, “Our home is in this Kapok

tree. All living things depend on one another.”

A sloth slowly told the man, “If you destroy the

beauty of the rain forest, on what will you feast
your eyes?”

The monkeys chattered to the man, “We have

seen the way of man, you chop down one tree
then come back for another and another.”

A tree frog squeaked, “A ruined rain forest means

ruined lives, many ruined lives!”
