Problem 2: Build the following assembly. All parts needed are in the ZIP file.

Once complete, print out the assembly hidden lines removed in

isometric view and upload assembly to K-State Online. MAKE SURE TO PACK AND GO THE ASSEMBLY AS A ZIP FILE AND UPLOAD ONLY THAT
FILE.

1. INSERT THE “HELICOPTER BODY” 1

Place the Origin of the helicopter base on the origin of the assembly. Use any of the three
bodies that you want.

2
2. INSERT THE “WINDSHIELD”

Mate the flat bottom and back of windshield to the cockpit area of the helicopter body.
The windshield is centered about the cockpit. Windshield does not move.

3. INSERT THE “ROTOR”

Mate the cylindrical base of the blades with the hole on the top of the helicopter body 3
(mate the bottom of the cylinder to the bottom of the hole). The rotor should be able to
rotate
4. INSERT THE “MISSLE BATTERY”

The missile battery is filled with heat seeking missiles and should be mated with the
cylindrical hole on the right wing. Since the missiles are heat seeking, the missile battery
does not rotate and faces forward.

5. INSERT THE “MACHINE GUN”

5
Mate the machine gun with the cylindrical hole on the left wing. As a safety feature, the
Gatling Gun should not be able to shoot the helicopter body. (HINT: Use angle limit mate
under ‘Advanced Mates’)

6. INSERT THE “SIDEWINDERS”

Mate the sidewinders to both the left and right wings of the helicopter. Sidewinder fits
against curved edge of wing and flush against rear. One wing of the sidewinder should
be parallel to the wing it is being mounted on.
