The Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Election Commission, in the letter second read above, has requested the Government to deciare the sald day of Poll as a Public Holiday under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XVI of 1881). 3. The Government, after careful examination of the above proposal of the Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Election Commission, have decided to accept the same and accordingly, under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881) declares Saturday, the 19 February, 2022, the date on which the poll for the Ordinary Elections to the Urban Local Bodies, 2022 will take place, to be a public Holiday, In those aréas wherever such poll takes place.
