RADIOLOGY CAREERS 1

Abstract

Radiology is a diagnostic procedure that takes images of different body parts. Presently, it is one

of the most advanced fields of medicine. These images let radiologists check and give a

diagnosis that can be used for Radiographs, CT scans, Mammograms, MRIs, ultrasounds,

fluoroscopy, and Nuclear medicine.

There are two different types of Radiologists: diagnostic and interventional. Diagnostic

Radiology aims to take images of the interior body to diagnose. The standard tools they use to

analyze is ultrasounds, X-rays, CT scan, and MRIs. These procedures make images so doctors

can diagnose the patient and go about treatment. Interventional radiologists use these images to

guide them during minimally invasive surgery. The reason for Interventional radiology is to

avoid extensive surgery. It can help save the feeling of pain, make it more affordable, and require

a shorter recovery time. Examples include shrinking tumors, turning off pain signals, and

stopping bleeding. Due to all of this, these crucial positions are at a growth rate of 3% for all

physicians and surgeons, with a median salary of $313,80 per year. Furthermore, the education

required to be a radiologist is a Doctorate in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine—the required

training such as clinical internship and a radiology residency program. Radiology helps people to

get a diagnosis, and can even make it more affordable
