Gaining from Wise Use of Time
2

Time passed is time gone but a person who gains time gains everything. Time is what we have to do, what we need to do on
earth. As Merril Douglas says, “If you can’t buy it, rent it, board it, multiply it, make it, or save it, you can only spend it.” To this, we
may add, “Don’t just spend time. Invest it.”
Promptness is acting without delay. Punctuality is arriving on time. The practice of these two values show that you are
considerate of other people’s time, responsible in carrying out your tasks, and generous of your own time.
Benjamin Franklin gives this advice: “As always, time is in your hands. Do you love life? Then do not squander time. For that
is the stuff life is made of.” You can be the best student that you can be by using time with promptness and punctuality. Determination
is necessary to attaining work goals. Here are some tips for developing determination in managing one’s time effectively.
