Predefined Folders and Files for Backup and Restore

Select the “Back up modified files during installation” check box when you are upgrading an existing
installation of Creo and you have customized files in the “Common files” directory. PTC recommends this
option if you are not sure if you have customized library files.

During the installation, existing customized files and folders are backed up and copied to the “Common files”
directory.

Note that when you select this option you might miss out on updates that PTC has made to the default
configuration settings and libraries in the updated version. However, the updated configuration and library
files and folders are made available in the “Common files” directory in a folder named “ORIG”.

The following files will be backed up and restored during maintenance release updates:

config.pro
config.sup
config.win
menu_def.pro
creo_parametric_admin_customization.ui
