A BROKEN BIRD BY JAYBE JAMES

I feel like a bird with a broken wing,

Damaged by all the hurt I've endured,

I long to fly away, to explore new things,

But the fear of falling leaves me feeling unsure.

High above a crowded scene,

I perch, Reluctant to move, for I fear I'll fall,

But deep down, I know I can't fly,

So I make up excuses to avoid it all.

I try not to let anyone notice my pain,

And hide it inside like there's nothing wrong,

But the list of my struggles can get really long,

And the weight of it all becomes hard to sustain.

I pray to the Lord to stay by my side,

As I learn how to spread my wings and glide,

I know that I'll need Him to dry my tears,

And to help me overcome my doubts and fears.

With every small victory, I'll gain strength,

And with the Lord's help, I'll finally fly,

Soaring high, beyond the pain's length,

Living the life that I've always wanted to try.
