D 2 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FACET KIT NO. 1741010 Preflight Inspection Procedure Change: Scavenge line oil filter check red indicator. Scavenge Oi Filter Check: + Inspect red button on bottom of bowl for indication of filter bypass. B. If red button is not showing, proceed with preflight. ©. Red button showing, reset button once and run engine. D. If red button reappears, discontinue operations and investigate reason for filter bypass indication. ‘Red Impending Bypass Indicator Reset: A, Remove lockwire securing filter bowl to filter head. It may be necessary to drain the system oil. B. Remove filter bowl with 1 1/4 inch wrench. C. Remove filter element. D. Reach down through bowl and push white plunger into hole so that plunger is flush with bowl opening. E. Push red bypass indicator in. F. Install new filter element. G. Install bowl and tighten to 150 in-lbs (lubricated with lube oil). H. Install lockwire. Scavenge Oil Filter Service: Replace element whenever the engine oil is changed. Remove lockwire securing filter bowl to filter head. Remove filter bowl with 1 1/4 inch wrench. Remove dirty element. Install new element. Install bowl and tighten to 150 in-lbs (lubricated with lube oil). Install lockwire. Only Facet authorized FAR/PMA approved replacement parts may be used to maintain warranty. Differential pressure indicator and bowl are matched assemblies and factory set. Do not attempt to repair or replace indicator. E905 Rev. It is recommended that the installer read through the instructions completely before starting to ensure that there will be no problem with completing this installation. Preparation: 1, Disconnect battery. 2. Remove panel covering oil cooler and tank, P/N 206-061-806. 3. Remove inspection door from right side of fuselage, P/N 206-031-328-003. + Remove scavenge oil line running from engine firewall to oil cooler "IN" fitting, P/N 70-0107000C080. Installation: 1. Locate plate (Item 4, 1741011) over upper deck with flanges up. ‘The Sth rivet forward of the screw securing the left aft mount bracket for the oil tank aligns with the outermost -257 diameter hole in the plate. Locate filter assenbly (Ttem 1, 037738-04) in the position over the plate. CAUTION! Check clearance on left-hand side of filter, reducer, hose end fitting, and upper fairing assembly. Check hose and filter clearances in area of drive shaft. 2. Mark and remove rivets in rivet lines on left and right that lay under the plate (Item 4, 1741011) and are in line with aft. oil tank mount screws. Drill out using No. 20 drill (.161 dia.), 8 Places. Enlarge the hole from the 5th rivet forward of the tank mount screw which aligns with the .257 dianeter plate hole, as mentioned in Step 1, to .257 diameter using a letter "F" drill (.257 diameter). NOTE: Maintain edge clearance from bend angle on underside of deck. F505 Rev. DS Locate plate (Item 4, 1741011) in position and temporarily secure with bolt through the .257 diameter hole mentioned in Steps 1 and 2. Mark and drill plate to match holes in upper deck made by removing rivets. Drill out using No. 20 drill (.161 dia.) as required. Locate plate (Item 4, 1741011) in position and temporarily secure with a bolt through the .257 diameter hole mentioned in Steps 1 and 2. Mark and drill upper deck to match existing holes in plate, 2 letter "F" drill (.257 dia.) holes. Drill in upper Plate No. 20 drill (.161 dia.) holes for bolt or rivet lines Parallel to the bent up ears using the 4 pilot holes in the plate as a guide. Prepare upper deck and plate (Item 4, 1741011) for permanent mounting. Deburr all holes. Zinc chromate bare spots on upper deck and plate. Make sure upper deck and plate are clear of all burrs, dirt and chips. Locate and secure plate (Item 4, 1741011) on upper deck with screws (Item 5, MS35206-245), washers (Item 7, AN960-8L), and nuts (Item 6, MS21042-08). NOTE: Rivets (not included) ‘may be used to secure the plate. Make installation to conform to FAR Part 43. Install an O-ring (Item 16, 040373) on the large end of both reducers (Item 15, AN919-19D). Install reducers securely into filter assembly (Item 1, 037738-04). Mount filter assembly (Item 1, 037738-04) with 3 bolts (Item 8, AN4-32A), 3 nuts (Item 9, MS21042-I4), and 6 washers (Item 10, AN960-416), and with 3 spacers (Item 11, 1741111) between filter assembly and plate. Torque nuts to 50-55 in-Ibs. CAUTION! "IN" side of the filter mst be closest to tail rotor drive 10. shaft and connected by hose to the scavenge oil line fitting on the aft side of the engine firewall. Secure hose assembly (Item 3, 1741110-10) on to scavenge oil line fitting on aft side of engine firewall and route hose down to upper deck and on to "IN" side of filter assembly (Item 1, 037738-04) . Secure hose assembly (Item 2, 1741110-09), 90° end, onto "our" side of filter assembly (Item 1, 037738-04) and route to oil cooler inlet. Secure 45° fitting to oil cooler inlet. 11. Hose support clamp installation. a. For hose assenbly (Item 3, 1741110-10) connecting from engine firewall to "IN" side of scavenge oil filter: 1) Place clamp (Item 12, MS21919DG-11) around hose and clamp (Item 12, MS21919DG-48) around blower duct and secure clamps together with screw (Item 17, 'S35207-262) and nut (Item 18, MS21042-13) 2) Place clamp (Item 12, MS21010D6-11 around hose and secure to aft screw on forward right-hand oil tank support bracket. Use existing bolt, omit washer. b. For hose assenbly (Item 2, 1741110-09) connecting "OUI" side of scavenge oil filter to the oil cooler inlet 2) Place clamp (Item 12, MS21919DG-11) around hose and Clamp (Item 14, MS21919DG-8) around oi1 cooler outlet Line and secure clamps together with screw (Item 17, MS35207-262) and nut (Item 18, MS21042-13) . 2) Drill a No. 12 (.189 dia.) hole in oil tank overflow catch pan adjacent to overflow drain port. Place clamp (Ttem 12, MS21919DG-11) around hose and secure to oil tank overflow catch pan using screw (Item 17, MS35207-262), nut (Item 16, MS21042-13), and’ washer (Ttem 19, AN360-10) . Hose should lay free without stress due to twist or tension. Check hose routing for clearances and chafing on structure, other hoses, etc. 12, Place cable wrap (Item 20, 1741126) around house (Item 3, 1741110-10) between the blower hose, as shown. 13. Check all fittings, bolts, clamps and components for security, Proper fit and clearances. Ensure aft fuselage compartment is clear of tools, rags, etc. Install inspection door. 206-031-328-3. 14. Place label (Item 21, 1741120), for indicator reset, adjacent to scavenge oil filter assembly in plain view of pilot. Activate ‘the adhesive with a solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). 15. Install oil in oil tank and prepare helicopter for engine rumup a E905 Rev. D 10 WARRANTY Seller warrants that at the time of delivery products delivered under the Order will conform to applicable drawings and specifications and will be free from defects in material and workmanship. Any claim for defective material or workmanship mist be made within a period of ninety (90) days from the date of delivery to Buyer. Upon prompt notice of any claimed nonconformity or defect, Seller's obligation under this warranty is Limited, at its option, to repairing or replacing at its plant, with transportation charges prepaid by Buyer, the product or component part thereof that is proved to be other than'as herein warranted. ‘This warranty does not extend to any of the Seller's products which have been subject to misuse, accident or improper installation, maintenance or application, nor does it extend to products which have been repaired or altered outside of Seller's plant unless authorized in writing by Seller or unless such installation, repair or alteration is performed by Seller, nor does this warranty extend to any labor charges for removal and/or replacement of the nonconforming or defective product or part thereof. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEV OF AND EXCLUDES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, ARISING BY OPERATION OF LAW OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FIINESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. In no event shall Seller be liable for special, incidental or consequential damages for any breach of warranty of this contract, including but not limited to, costs of renoval and reinstallation of goods, loss of goodwill or loss of profits and loss of use.
