The scheduled topics listed in order on the published agenda are Jail Telephone System, Jail Inmate Fees, and Jail Pilot Re Entry Hub. Many of the options, conclusions, and best practices that were outlined in these presentations represent significant deviations from current operating procedures and new policy decisions for the Jail. Therefore, rather than present alternatives and timelines on March 7" tha: could be counter to those articulated in these scheduled agenda items, we have opted to hold not only our attendance, but our observations, comments and recommendations in abeyance until our team can prepare a rebuttal to the final actions resulting from the March 7® Special Board Meeting. We believe that @ ‘well thought, researched, and contrived approach that could be shared in a yet to be scheduled Commission meeting, would better serve all parties, including the inmates, Jail personnel and the citizens that we serve each day with distinction. Our contractual obligation to provide for the operations, care, custody, and control of all inmates at the Alachua County Jail through ‘our Interlocal Agreement continues to be tantamount to its success.
