Republic of the Philippines i Department of Education REGION VIII — EASTERN VISAYAS SCHOOLS DIVISION OF CATBALOGAN CITY Office of the Schools Division Superintendent January 17, 2022 DIVISION MEMORANDUM No. S, 2022 IMPLEMENTATION OF THE POLICY ON ACADEMIC EASE AND SUSPENSION OF CLASSES AND TEACHING RELATED ACTIVITIES AMID SURGE OF COVID 19 CASES TO: Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (CID and SGOD Chief Education Program Supervisors Education Program Supervisors Public Schools District Supervisor Public and Private Elementary and secondary School Heads All others concerned 1 Consistent with DM-CI-2022-009 titled “ Reiterating the Policy on Academic Ease and allowing Suspension of Classes and other Teaching Related Activities in the Midst of the surge of Covid 19 and the subsequent issuance of Executive Order No. 01-002 Series of 2022 by the Local Chief Executive of Catbalogan City dated January 16 , 2022 “Executive order Promulgating New Localized Guidelines on the Management of CORONA Virus Disease ((COVID 19) in Catbalogan City and in consideration of the IATF Omnibus Guidelines, this Office in consultation with key stakeholders and in consideration of the health statuses of teachers and learners , hereby announces the suspension of classes from January 17-31 , 2022. x The directive is geared towards ensuring that all learners , teachers are safe especially in the school conducting pilot face to face classes and further escalation in the number of COVID 19 cases is averted thereby preventing the surge ,promoting the health and well- being of all concerned including the community. 3. It is reiterated that schools must be ready with their catch-up plans to ascertain the achievement of learning competencies of learners , uppermost in mind the recommended strategies that foster academic ease based on Memorandum OUCI- 2020-307 “ Suggested Measures to Foster Academic Ease “ during COVID 19 pandemic. 5. For the guidance of private schools , in consultation with their key stakeholders may exercise their discretion in the suspension of classes and other activities depending on the severity of risks in their respective areas. 6.
