K. Ro, J. H. Kyung, J. K. Park(KIMM), U. D. Choi(Sung Rim Co.), S.J, Yang, J. E. Lee(Chung-Ang Univ,). N.Y. Kim, D. J. Kim(Chumgnam Nat'l Univ.) ABSTRACT A cone-shaped active magnetic bearing spindle system for high speed internal grinding is designed and tested ‘The cone-shaped AMB system consists of only 4 couples of magnot, i can be smaller and lighter than conventional radiakaxlal-type AMB system. In this paper, the cone-shaped electromagnets are designed ty magnetic circuit theory, ‘and de-coupled direct feedback PID controller is applied to control the coupled magnetic bearings ‘The designed ‘cone-shaped AMB spindle system is buill and consiracied with digital control system, and (ested its stability and dynamic performances As the results of the tests, this spindie runs up 0 40,000 rpm with about Syn of runout, nnd the AMB system provides high damping ratio eliminating overshoot and resonance speed Key Words : Cone-Shaped Active Magnetic Bearing (#9 47/801), High Speed Internal Gnnder (4 Ue APN, Digital Contcol (9 7] "271104), VINES lB 1ES PAYA] zi [ajoly ABE vhabo] Qe Sst e yHsebal aol, S Molo} Yogol o| a naj} ASH SoU, vi aed S44 $22 ee as yarla se che) ASSIA YOM ARYA AS volar ch S2y7)a Zeb Sale ans wy sg Sa yd ds F24e EAoe gy ASE oO] SAS|at ghrp.
