When is an employee eligible for Parental leave

Parental leave can be availed by male employees and employees with same gender domestic
partners on birth/adoption of a child.

Is Parental leave paid time off

Yes

What is the Policy Applicability Date ?

The Policy is applicable to all birth/adoption incidents on or after 1st Oct 2019

How many days are given for Parental leave?

20 working days.

Can I avail Parental leave in parts? Is there a limit of such leave I can avail in an year ?

Parental Leave is linked to the birth/adoption of a child

Parental leave can be taken in different parts and the limit of such leave is 20 working days
within 1 year of child’s birth/adoption.

Can I club parental leave with my additional approved time off?

In addition to parental leave, an employee may, with his or her immediate manager’s approval,
use any available vacation leave as necessary.

Can I carry forward Parental leave

No, you cannot carry forward parental leave. If such leave is not availed within the prescribed
period i.e 1 year of child’s birth/adoption, it shall be treated as lapsed.

Am I eligible for Parental Leave on adoption of a child

Yes, male employees and employees with same gender domestic partners can avail parental
leave of 20 working days upon adoption of a child who is less than 1 year old.

Can any unconsumed Paternity leave be encashed

No, Paternity leave cannot be encashed. It is meant to support fathers in bonding with and
caring for their new born.

How many days of parental leave am I eligible for birth of twins/triplets

You can avail a maximum 20 working days within 12 months period irrespective of number of
births i.e twins

Am I eligible to take Parental Leave only on birth/Adoption of 1st and 2nd Child, Is there any limit?
No, there is no limit
