In addition to parental leave, an employee may, with his or her immediate manager’s approval,
use any available vacation leave as necessary.
No, you cannot carry forward parental leave. If such leave is not availed within the prescribed
period i.e 1 year of child’s birth/adoption, it shall be treated as lapsed.
Yes, male employees and employees with same gender domestic partners can avail parental
leave of 20 working days upon adoption of a child who is less than 1 year old.
No, Paternity leave cannot be encashed. It is meant to support fathers in bonding with and
caring for their new born.

births i.e twins
