1984 is a dystopian romance by George Orwell published in
1948, which follows the life of Winston Smith which belongs to the foreign party and works at the Ministry of Truth. He is disillusioned by the Party's omnipresent eye and its ruler, Big Brother. Big Brother controls every aspect of people's life. He invented the language new language to eliminate political rebellion, and he created Throughcrimes to stop people from even thinking about things that are considered rebellious. The Party controls what people read, say, say, and do, threatening to send them to the dreaded Room 101 as a threatening punishment if they don't comply. Orwell effectively explores the themes of mass media control, government surveillance, and how a dictator can manipulate and control history's thoughts and lives in such a way that no one can escape it. In my opinion, the novel 1984 is a well-written novel that shows that soon we can expect total control, which will be possible only thanks to the development of technology, and even though this novel was written in 1948, its ideas have survived to this time.
