A group project is required for all students in the course “Transportation
Engineering”.  The project is an opportunity for you to apply the techniques of
Transportation Engineering to solve a real-world problem of your interest. Some
students may already be involved in a current research project and will frame a
course project around this. Alternatively, you may design a project which extends
one of the case studies in the course. You are not limited to topics which are
discussed in the course.

In all cases however, the project should match the general emphasis of the course.
The success of your project will depend in part on how well you use the existing
literature in the field.

GUIDELINES:
1. Every project group should consist of minimum 04 and maximum of 05
students.
2. Project group members and title of the project need to be approved by Course
Faculty
3. User Oriented Collaborative Design: The students need to identify the
problem by discussion with various stakeholders, expert-opinions and various
research articles and reports in the field of Transportation Engineering.
4. The relevance and criticality of the problem to be solved, need to be
established by collecting sufficient information and background study.
5. Define proposed solution and apply project management/modelling tools for
project planning and design.
6. Critically analyse various solutions/techniques to solve real world problems
of Transportation and perform feasibility study to select and justify proposed
solution.
7. Define outcome, milestones, definite roadmap for project design,
implementation, evaluation and documentation.

ASSESSMENT:
Assessment will be based in quality of final project report submission. Students
can refer the rubrics given below.
1. Background Study and Literature Review (5 Marks)
2. Synopsis (5 Marks)
3. Problem Identification, Motivation, Relevance (5 Marks)
4. Problem Definition, Project Planning, Analysis and Design (5 Marks)
5. Project Report format (5 Marks)
