Battle of Badr

This Battle took place in 624 AD, 2 AH. The Quraish were very angry on Muslims,
and they started to tease Muslims by destroying their crops and stealing their
cattles. So, for this The Holy prophets stationed patrolling force there.

One day Prophet (saw) came to know that Abu Sufyan is returning from Syria with
Quraish trade caravan, and they have a lot of booty So, the holy prophet with
some of his companions went to intercept the caravan but when Abu Sufyan came
to know about it, he sent the message to Abu Jahl and Abu Jahl collected an army
of 1000 men and rushed towards Badr but Abu Sufyan had changed his route so
the Muslims couldn't match them. Abu Sufjan sent another message to Abu Jahl
that they are safe and not to come. but Abu Jahl didn't listen.

When Muslims came to know about it. The Prophet made an army of 313 men
with only 2 horses, 70 camels and were badly mismatched. The Holy Prophet
reached first to the sandy land and due to the blessings of Allah the Sun rays were
behind Muslim army and Infront of the Quraish. Quraish reached to firm land, and
they were 1000 in number with 700 camels, 70 horses and were well equipped.

On night Allah poured rain as blessing for the Believers. Due to the rain Muslim
army's sandy land became fertile and Quraish’s firm land became muddy. The
Prophet (saw) prayed to Allah: "O Allah! If this small band of men perish, there
will be no one alive to worship You. And Your faith will be destroyed forever."

Quraish leader, Uthba bin Rabiya his brother sheebah and his son Waleed
challenged the Muslims for a dual from the Muslims Hazrat Hamza, Hazrat Ali and
Abu Ubaidah bin Al Harith Came forward and killed them. Then the actual fight
started Muslims won due to their strategies. Abu Jahl was killed by 2 Muslim
teenagers Muaz bin Amr and Muaz bin Afrah. 70 of the Quraish were killed and 70
of them were Imprisoned. Those who could pay Ransome were released and
those who teach Muslim children to read and write were freed.
