Activity 2
Read and understand the poem “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe and write a short fictional
narrative that can be related to it. Use your imagination.

The fairy tale tone of this poem aids the audience in comprehending the author's adventures inside the
verse, and the impact that the events depicted in the poet had on him. We've got a period long ago, a
faraway kingdom, and a girl to tell the story. This young lady swiftly rises to the position of a crucial
character in the poem. She is given a name right away, Betty Pool, and her description as a "maiden"
instantly paints an image of a youthful and attractive young lady in the minds of readers who are
unfamiliar with her. Betty Pool and the speaker Emmanuel James were young and fell in love. The two
lovers were young and enjoyed their love life in the sea with the enjoyment they went through with it.
Emmanuel James loved his girlfriend because he insisted on how love they were so the readers could
know and understand that.
Betty Pool contracts a cough due to cloud-borne wind in the sea in the blink of an eye. He says that
their sentiments of envy were "the reason why...a wind burst out of a cloud, freezing Betty. Emmanuel
had a possessive tone in addressing the issues they faced in the sea, which made him cover up her to make
her feel warm. Because of the cold that Betty was experiencing, the captain man came and took Betty
from Emmanuel. This left him not knowing what was happening in the mansion, if she was alive or just
shutting up in the palace, not wanting to communicate.
Betty's sickness became worse and made her pass away in the mansion. She was designed a beautiful
tomb when she was laid, which led her lover to be broken and not know what to do after losing her loved
one. People started saying that their love was not real, but Emmanuel stood by their passion and said it
was even more potent than what the adults had. This was meant for the people not to forget Betty just like
that because she died. He expressed how he always loved the diced and will always love her no matter
what. He always went to the tomb to visit her lover and be close to her because he felt close to her by
doing this.
