1) modernism is the period where music,cinema and visual

modernism expressed the desire break with the past and
gave shape to the modern consciouness.

difficult life.
When she is about to sail she decides not to do it.
Eveline is paralyzed by her past and the promise she made
to her mother to take care of the house. This is why she
stays in Dublin abandoning the idea of a new life Eveline
seeks guidance in the routine habit of prayer. Eveline’s
paralysis within an orbit of repetition leaves her a “helpless
animal,” stripped of human will and emotion. The story
does not suggest that Eveline placidly returns home and
continues her life, but shows her transformation into an
automaton that lacks expression.

describing a psychological dystopia of totalitarian states
where people's lives are controlled by a figure called "big
brother", the protagonist, winston smith, one who works
for the inner party opposes it to this regime with julia and
a group called Brotherhood but they were captured and
tortured by the psychopolice.
eventually both julia and winstom as a result of
psychological and physical torture change their ideology in
favor of the big brother.
