4 While everyone was celebrating on a cold, snowy New $
#& = Year's Eve, a little girl was wandering in the streets trying to $
# sell match sticks. She was walking barefooted. She was also
% shivering from cold and hunger and was not able to sell any
# =~ matches that day. She sat on a cold corner and stayed there.
# To make herself warm, she decided to light some of the #
$ — matches that she had. Every time she lights one, she imagines $
$ something. In the first match, she imagined she was sitting in %
& front of a large iron stove. After the matched burned out, it %
& became dark again. She lit another one and imagine there was &
& a table full of delicious food. Once again, it became dark 4
& shortly after. She lit another match and imagined she was in &
i front of a huge Christmas tree. She saw a star falling from the ;
4 star and thought that someone was dying because that was 4
4 what her late grandmother told her. She lit the fourth candle 4
4 and saw her grandmother. She burst into tears and begged to 4
4 be taken away with her. The matchstick burned out and 4
4 everything was dark again. The next morning, the dead body of 4
4 the poor girl was seen at the very same spot. Beside her was a 4
4 pile of burnt matchsticks. People concluded that the child 4
% = must have been trying to warm herself up but still ended up 4
& ~~ being frozen to death. 4

MORAL:
The world may be too cruel for some people: so we need to
extend our help to those in need. A little bit of our kindness
may change or even save a life of another person.
