Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), was a significant change in US

healthcare policy that aimed to expand the number of people with insurance, raise the standard of
care, and cut costs. The ACA has met these goals, although with varying degrees of success. The
number of insured people has increased, mostly due to Medicaid expansion, but access to
healthcare has been inconsistent, and the standard of service has not considerably improved.
Additionally, the ACA has increased the costs of practice management and regulatory
compliance while ineffectively reducing total healthcare expenditures. Overall, the ACA has
increased the number of individuals with health insurance, but its effects on healthcare costs,
quality, and access are still up for debate
