Part ll Enforcement. 108.0 Powers and Duties of the Authority Having Jurisdiction. 108.1 General. The Authority Having Jurisdiction shall be authorized 10 enforce the provisions of the code. For such purposes, the Authority Having Jurisdiction shall have the powers granted by the law. The Authority Having Jurisdiction shall adopt, interpret and enforce the standards, rules and regulations of the code in order to clarify the application of the provisions of the code. Part iil ~ Permits and Inspections 110.0 Permits. 110.1 Permits Required. A mechanical permit shall not be required for the following: 111.1 A portable heating appliance, portable ventilating equipment, a portable cooling unit, or ‘a portable evaporative cooler, 411.2. Any closed mechanical system within heating oF cooling equipment that is regulated by this code. 411.3 Any component part or assembly of mechanical equipment that is replaced and does rot alter its original approval and complies with ‘other applicable requirements of this code. 111.4 Any refrigerating equipment that is part of the mechanical equipment for which a permit has been issued pursuant to the requirements of this code. 112.0 Application for Permit. 112.1. Application. Piens and specifications shall be drawn to scale and shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature, and extent of the work proposed and show in detail that it will conform to the provisions of this code and relevant laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. 113.0 Permit Issuance. 113.1 Issuance. The Authority Having Jurisdiction shall issue a permit to the applicant when the work described in an application for a permit and the plans, calculation, specifications, and other data filed are in ‘accordance with the requirements of this code and other pertinent iaws and ordinances and that the required fees specified in Section 115.0 have been paid. When issuing a permit where plans are required, the Authority Having Jurisdiction shall endorse in writing ‘or stamp the plans and specifications: “APPROVED.” ‘Such approved plans and specifications shall not be changed, modified, or altered without approval from the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
