To achieve the goals of the present research the following objectives were

studied in the study.

x To extract the phytoconstituents from the leaves of Madhuca longifolia
using Soxhlet apparatus and to identify the presence or absence of
secondary metabolites in various solvent extracts of the plant.
x To characterize the crude extract for the presence of functional groups and
compounds.
x To optimize the silver nanoparticles synthesis using aqueous leaf extract
of Madhuca longifolia
x To characterize the Madhuca longifolia mediated synthesized silver
nanoparticles using UV-Visible Spectroscopy, Transmission electron
9
microscopy (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy
Dispersive Spectroscopy.
x To analyse the antioxidant potential of the different extracts of Madhuca
longifolia by DPPH scavenging assay.
x To access the cytotoxic potential of the crude leaf extract on MCF-7 breast
cancer cell line and Vero cell lines.
x To evaluate the damages caused by the crude leaf extract using DNA
fragmentation and DAPI assay.
x To determine the LC50 (lethal concentration) of the crude extract to
determine the sublethal concentration of the extract and to formulate the
feed.
x To study the toxic impact of the crude extract on the hematology,
biochemical, and histological parameters of the freshwater fish Catla catla
fed with extract formulated feed.
x To analyze the antioxidant and anticancer potential of the green
synthesized silver nanoparticles.
x To evaluate the cytotoxic efficacy of the green synthesized silver
nanoparticles over the MCF-7 and Vero cell lines.
x To validate the structural and morphological changes in the MCF-7 cells
associated with the administration of silver nanoparticles using DAPI and
DNA fragmentation assay.
x To evaluate the impact of sublethal concentration of plant mediated
synthesized silver nanoparticles over the freshwater fish Catla catla on the
hematological, biochemical and histological parameters.
