Mission Statement:
Shelter Partnership, Inc. is a nonprofit organization collaboratively solving homelessness in Los
Angeles County through policy analysis, program design, resource development, and advocacy
in support of agencies and local governments that serve the homeless.

Purpose:
The purpose of this organization is to combat and solve homelessness in Los Angeles county.
 My Community Service Project:

I chose Shelter Partnership Inc. because I believe there’s a homeless issue in Los

Angeles. The main purpose of this organization is to combat homelessness through actions like

policy analysis, resource development, and support of agencies and local governments that serve

the homeless. This organization helps my community by collecting funds and advocating for

policies that increase and strengthen affordable housing and homeless services. In 2015-2016,

Shelter partnership submitted formal and informal public comments that helped reduce the

amount of homeless people in Los Angeles. The city of and county of Los Angeles released

plans to improve homeless systems and plans to determine how to allocate additional funding for

homelessness. The way I would volunteer with this organization is by volunteering to help sort

donations of new clothing and to distribute to local homeless shelters. By volunteering to this

organization, I would learn how to work with homeless shelters and agencies. I would gain

experience and skills like distribution that could help me in the future.
