John 12:20-22

20
And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
21
The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we
would see Jesus.
22
Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.

Title: Let Others See Jesus In You

Intro:

1. While passing through this world of sin,

And others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within,
Let others see Jesus in you.

Chorus:
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.

2. Your life's a book before their eyes,

They're reading it through and through;
Say, does it point them to the skies,
Do others see Jesus in you?

3. What joy 'twill be at set of sun,

In mansions beyond the blue,
To find some souls that you have won;
Let others see Jesus in you.

4. Then live for Christ both day and night,

Be faithful, be brave, and true,
And lead the lost to life and light;
Let others see Jesus in you.

2 Corinthians 3:2-3
2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink,
but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

A. Identity

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are
become new.

 That you have Received Him as your Savior

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to
them that believe on his name:

 That you are Renewed in your mind

Colossians 3:10
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created
him:

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may
prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Philippians 2:5-8

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the
likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross.

 That you are Resolved in following Him as your Lord

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up
his cross daily, and follow me

Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or
else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 5:11
And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

Luke 9:57-62
King James Version
57
And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow
thee whithersoever thou goest.
58
And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath
not where to lay his head.
59
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
60
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
61
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at
home at my house.
62
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for
the kingdom of God.

B. Impact

 By pointing others to Jesus

John 12:20-22
20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying,
Sir, we would see Jesus.

1 Corinthians 2:2
For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

John 4:28-30
28
The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29
Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30
Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

 By proving to others what His grace can do

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and
the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave
himself for me.

1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed
upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of
God which was with me.

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I
might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify
the gospel of the grace of God.
John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou
me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him,
Feed my lambs.

John 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?

John 21:17
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he
said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things;
thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

John 21:3  Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They
went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

Acts 11:23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace  of God, was glad, and exhorted them all,
that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

 By promoting the Name of Jesus

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Philippians 2:9-11

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every
name:
10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and
things under the earth;
11
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Psalm 34:3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Psalm 33:21
For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Matthew 4
King James Version
4 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made
bread.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that
proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels
charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot
against a stone.

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the
world, and the glory of them;

And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,
and him only shalt thou serve.
