Project Responsibility
Prior to the start of construction, John (Project Engineer) has delegated job responsibilty as following:
Dave's assignéd as a Ste engineer responsible for project scheduling and coordinating with 3 AE
\(rchitectural/Engineering) design firm, CM consultant, and ABC head office.
Carls in charge of on-site operations and general supervision of all foremen. Car reports directly to John.
1 Bob is:responsible for on-site resources management (labor, material, and equipment) including ordering
(work in concert with Dave), warehousing, , and distribution. "His major task js to make: sure that resources
wil be available when needed. Moreover, site planning and layout for efficient construction operation is also
fis responsibilty. Bob works directly under Carl for on-site operations and Dave for administrative functions.
1M Nai is in charge of on-site operations. His major responsibity isto ensure that work progress i satisfactory.
He has to synchronize work activities of subcontractors and ABC so that works wil go as smooth as possible.
He reports directly to Carl and John,
ML Soott and Tom are site foremen whose major tasks are: 1) to perform quality inspection in conformance with
technical specifications; and 2) to supervise and control in-house skiled and unsklled labors in order to
ensure productive work performance.

[ARC Is the AJE design firm of this project. The role of A/E during construction is to carfy whenever there are
problems conceming drawings and specications arisen. Tn the event that there is problem, Request for

‘CHCON is the CM consultant firm and the representative of the project owner to supervise ABC works. CMCON is
responsible for on-site quality Inspection, maintaining project progress, and the ABC payment approval. so that
the project wil be competed on time and within Specter quanRY. CHICON has three full ime staffs on sis, ‘Smith
{Project Engineer with 10 years bulking construction work experience), Will (Senior Foreman with 20 years
experience), and Shane (unior Foreman with 1 year work experience).

In this project, two schedule categories have been requested by CMCON as listed:

2. Ceetional ScheduleSectional schedules are required for the detailed site planning of the contract. They are.
Prepared as the detalled work schedules for specific parts or paiticular areas of the work such a5 piling,
concrete structure, etc. Itis important that their preparation ties with the master schedule.
lule Responsibility:
Other than the two above mentioned schedules, John requests threé mofe types of schedules to be applied
during construction so that close monitoring of work activities can be accomplished.
GD Weeidy Schedule: This schedule wil provide the ability to contol activities on a'short term basis and allow
regular short term reviews of progress. Furthermore, it enables effective communication on a day-to-day
basis over the span of a week.
(O Subecntiactor Schedule: Al major subcontractors (eleccal, mechanical, et.,) are asked to submit their
‘etal schedule of work activities showing completion within the periods allowed by ABC to ensure the proper
progress of the main contract
QO | Procurem 3: Material procurement. schedules are developed to ensure that all critical
materials will be on-site when needed. This type of schedule falls into two phases on site: first, material
delivery schedules to meet the requirements of the master and sectional schedules; secondly, the monitoring
‘and control of deliveries together with ensuring that they are efficiently used.
