Pautas:
- Cada equipo de máximo cuatro (4) integrantes deberá presentar su informe en formato PDF.
- Todos los puntos que impliquen procedimientos matemáticos deben sustentarse.

1. A firm manufactures screws whose diameters are normally distributed with mean of 1.805
cm and standard deviation of 0.005 cm. A client requires a batch of screws but requires
that they comply with a diameter of 1.8 ±0,01 cm. What bolt ratio meets customer
specification?

2. Engineers manage to make improvements to the process in such a way that they manage to
obtain an average of 1.8 cm. The standard deviation remains the same. What proportion
of the diameters meets the specification?

3. An international client is interested in the screws but needs the proportion that meets the
same specification to be 99 %. The process manager says that the only thing they can do
in this case is to reduce the standard deviation. To what value must it be reduced to meet
the new requirement?

4. A power company is testing the time in hours without failure of a modified generator.
The aleatory variable X that contains these times follows an exponential distribution with
parameter λ = 1/150.

a. Find the probability that this model will be operational for more than 300 hours.
b. If a client requires a generator that is operational two days in a row. Is this model
useful to the client?
c. What probability of equipment availability will the manufacturer give to the customer?
