We use IN for specific months, years, seasons, centuries and lengths of time. years:
in 1992, in 2006
months: in December, in June
decades: in the sixties, in the 1790s
centuries: in the 19th century

In Examples
seasons: in winter, in summer
in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening

My birthday is in January. (I don't mention the date, just the month)


My grandmother was born in 1927.
