inaugurated on July 10, 1923. The monument was a gift for the
centenary of the independence of Peru

The historic monument was a gift from the German colony as part of
the celebrations for the centenary of the independence of Peru in
1921.
It has a very special feature of making bell sounds at 12:00 pm. And
the same thing happens at 5:00 pm, drawing the attention of visitors
and tourists.
