1) Compare your initial thoughts to the actual results
2) Comment on the trendline shown in the graph
3) Identify 3 factors that might have influenced the trend
4) Write one question that you would expect to see in an exam about
this graph

Have students take notes on slide 5-8 on a separate sheet of paper.
They will be turning in the notes.

• Rwanda Slide 9-14


Have students work with a partner to go through slides 9-14 about
Rwanda. After students do slide 10, do a class discussion on what
students wonder and notice about the population of Rwanda.

•Cutaneous leishmaniasis - Slide 16-17


Have students go to the link to the data on cases of cutaneous
leishmaniasis. Have students Plot the data on a graph and write a
paragraph to summarize what they learned about data and rates of
change today. They can do the extension if they finish early.

•Reflection - Slide 18
Have students use the hulk slider to show how well they did with the
lesson.
