Introduction (Narrate the lifestyle of women in Sumadel, before)

Narrator :
Long time ago, when Sumadel was not yet refined, people lived in an old-fashioned, die- hard
and traditionalistic way. However, they enjoy it because that’s the way of living.
Furthermore, a woman whether married or unmarried, stays at home and do the household
chores while the men go hunting and do the work outside.
And at home, the woman must do the following chores and these are :
(To be portrayed by the ambassador)
MONOLOGUE:
1. “Uwwawi” –this is a song for baby sitting to make the child sleep.

2. “JUMMASI”- this is a song, sung when pounding/pulping rice grains.

3. Umoy man-uras, manakju ja manlafa ad chagsi.

THAT WAS BEFORE,

So, it is good that today’s generation has changed.


Today, all the men and women are equal. All are given the opportunity to enter in any of the secular
work. The women are empowered by. They are now involved in decision-making. They are liberated
to lead.
Thus, as we can see, the involvement of the women in our society makes municipality of
Tinglayan became “UMUNNO-UNNOY”.
Therefore, ladies and gentlemen , we should appreciate the presence of the women.
