Incarcerated Inguinal Hernia Right

Age- Due to the weakening of the abdominal wall and conditions that raise intraabdominal
pressure, inguinal hernias occur more frequently in elderly patients than in younger ones.
Inguinal and femoral hernias result from weakened muscles that may have existed since birth or
are brought on by aging and repeated strains on the abdominal and groin regions. Physical
exertion, obesity, pregnancy, persistent coughing, or constipation can all cause this strain.

Being male- Men's groin muscles have a hole or gaps that allow blood to flow to their testicles.
Men are consequently more susceptible to inguinal hernias than women are. The second reason
is age. A man's abdominal wall weakens in that same area as he ages, raising the possibility of
developing a hernia. Men are eight times more likely to develop an inguinal hernia than are
women.

Previous inguinal hernia or hernia repair- Given that the patient previously had a right
inguinal hernia and had not received any consultation, it is possible that the patient would be
more at risk for developing that condition. As a result, the patient noticed a sudden enlargement
of his scrotum with severe pain one week prior to admission.
