In the digital era, there is an extreme complexity in information systems and

processes of an enterprise. Zachman framework simplifies this process by providing

a holistic view of a whole enterprise with five different perspectives in an elemental
form. It’s composition is less technical and can easily be understood by anyone. This
shall improve the communication among information network for robust decision
making by standardising the business processes and systems. Moreover, with such
an efficient planning there can be a strong force to push the enterprise for an
evolving technological change1. On the other hand, Ambler (2007) notes that it is a
top-down approach with heavy documentation to define rigorous processes 2. He also
pointed out that this approach is traditional and more biased towards techniques
relying on data. To put it simply, the Zachman framework effectively plan and build
information system of an enterprise in this digital world.
