Boones Creek Baptist Association Serving, Encouraging and Supporting Christs Churches

Bro. John Ryder-Director of Missions Angel Kane, Secretary Floyd & Gale Holbrook-Camp Manager Office (859) 744-0037 Fax (859) 744-1069 E-mail: boonescreekbapti@bellsouth.net Web-Site-www.boonescreekbaptistassoc.com Printed Aug, 2011, Volume 44, issue 8 Deadline for next Issue: Sept. 15, 2011

A Note to you, -We have moved the association office upstairs at the mission house. Thanks to the executive board for the approval to move upstairs. -Thanks to the following folks who helped us move: Floyd Holbrook, David Shepherd, Ed Shepherd, Dennis Whitaker, Cecil Sheffield, Adam Sea, Earnest Christopher, and Gary Willoughby. -Welcome to new pastors: Bro. Jeff Ryder at Williams Memorial and Bro. Bill Meese at Providence E.C. and Interim Pastor: Bro. Tim Christopher at Heritage Baptist. -Remember in prayer our association churches that are without pastors: Central, Heritage, Jeffersonville, Reid Village, and Spears Mill. - The fall semi-annual associational meeting will be October 10 at Irvine First Baptist Church in Irvine. The date was moved from September to give the association churches more time on the annual church profiles. -Plan on attending Super Saturday September 10 at Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington. Registration begins at 8:00 A.M and the sessions will be complete at 3:30 P.M. Cost is $25 per person if registration is completed by Tuesday September 6. Cost is $35 at the door. -The next executive board meeting for the association is September 12 at Howards Mill Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling. Food For Thought: Rev. R. G. Lee, former pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church of Memphis, Tennessee, said, So long as Southern Baptists have a passion for the salvation of sinners everywhere, there is little danger of our drifting into materialism ... But if we give up our position as an evangelistic storm center and court riches and court fashion and court friendships of self-elected scholars with bloodless gospels. We shall not be found following in Christ's train. In these days of molluscous liberalism, of self-satisfied complacency, if we emphasize little the old familiar notes of Calvary, of hell, of sin, and take up the merely tender note of humanitarian philosophy, we sound our death knell, dig our grave, write our epitaph. And he said, You can count on me until my tongue is silent in the grave and until my hand can no longer weld a pen to keep my unalterable stand for the Bible as the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God giving rebuke to and standing in opposition to all enemies of the Bible, even as I have done for 50 years. May more of us be willing to take the same stand. Yours in Christ,

Bro. John Ryder

Disaster Emergency Relief Volunteers Needed

The disaster emergency relief committee needs volunteers. The vision for the committee is: An Association church has a problem that it needs help with, i.e. electrical, plumbing, etc. It needs help because it doesnt have funds or manpower to deal with the problem. This committee will utilize available resources (manpower) to correct the problem. If you would like to volunteer to help out, please contact your pastor or the association office for a volunteer sign up form.

11-Octoberfest

TO ALL CHURCHES IN THE ASSOCIATION: The Disaster Emergency Relief Committee is available to the churches for projects that require manpower. Call the Association Office 859/744-0037 if you need help.
