    Tongesai Mpofu was born in 1977 in Zvimba, Zimbabwe. She received her primary, secondary, and university education in Zimbabwe between 1885 and 2007. In 2009, she joined the Marketing department at Chinhoyi University of Technology as a Teaching Assistant, later becoming a lecturer. From 2016 to 2020, Tongesai conducted research for her PHD at the University of Kwazulu in South Africa on using social media for marketing and communication at Chinhoyi University of Technology.     Tongesai Mpofu nee Madzudzo was born on the 13th October 1977 in Zvimba.

    She did her


    primary and secondary education at St Francis Primary, Chegutu High and Mt Pleasant High
    from 1885 to 1997. From 2003 to 2007 she did her B Tech in International Marketing at
    Chinhoyi University of Technology. In 2009 she joined the department pf Marketing as a
    Teaching Assistant. In 2010 she enrolled for a M Com in Marketing Strategy with Midlands
    State University. She was promoted to lectureship position in 2011. In 2016 Tongesai started
    her PHD studies with University of Kwazulu in South Africa. She carried out her research
    from 2016 to 2020 in Zimbabwe.

    Dr Mpofu graduated with a D Phil in Marketing with the following title:

    “The Adoption of Social media as a marketing and communication tool for new students at
    Chinhoyi University of Technology.”

    She is married to Dr Augustine Mpofu they have three children Tinomutenda, Anotidaishe
    and Tovimbanashe.
