BAD BEHAVIOR

By Joel Adejo

PLOT OF THE STORY

A.) INTRODUCTION

The story begins with the introduction of the character who was at home, trying out
something he has learned at school. It was stated that it was the perfect time to try it out at 7pm
since the mother of the character was all alone in the house. His mother won’t be back from
work until 11pm and the elder sister was at her boyfriend’s house.

B.) RISING ACTION

The complications in the story started when the character tried out what he had learned at
school by carefully rolling a dried herb into the paper, lit it and inhaled it which he then coughed.
The character tried it out again and again and within 10 minutes of practice, he felt like a pro like
the big boys in his class. Unexpectedly, someone knocked the door and it was the mother. His
mother saw him holding a crack in his hand that was burnt half way.

C.) CLIMAX

The climax of the story was when the main character’s mother found out about his son’s
use of crack and he brought him to a night club. His son then learned about the truth nature of his
mother’s job. It turns out his mother was a dancer in the night club and that’s why she was
always working until 11pm every day.

D.) FALLING ACTION

The mother and son tried conversing with one another. The mother hugged his son and
told him that this type of work is what she was using to fund his and her sister Angela’s
education. The son was felling all shades of ill-feeing and cried.

E.) DENOUEMENT

The story ended when the man with a red hat at the VIP section was poisoned and the
main character’s mother was telling her son what he thinks is the offence of the man who was
poisoned. The son had no idea and so his mother told him that his offence was trust and she told
her son that he was just 13 years old and that he wasn’t ready yet for the streets. After that, an
ambulance came to pick the corpse of the man and the story ends.
