Being aware of the need to unify the Senior High School subject offerings across the division and to measure the preparedness of learners and identify the areas of strengths and constraints essential for intervention measures anchored from DepEd Order No. 39 s, 2018 titled Clarifications and Additional Information to DepEd Order No. 30 s, 2017, this office, through Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) would like to reiterate the following Division Memoranda: a. Evaluation of students’ readiness for work immersion should be done and tailored to the context of the school. This is also in reference to DepEd Order No. 40 s, 2015 or the Guidelines on Kto12 Partnerships, DepEd Order No. 30 s. 2017 or the Guidelines for Work Immersion, DepEd Order No. 39 s, 2018 or the Clarifications and Additional Information to DepEd Order No. 30 8. 2017, and Memorandum DM C1 2020- 00085 or the Guidelines for Work Immersion Implementation during Crisis Situation. The Schools Division of Cavite Province hereby issues the following operational guidelines on the utilization and implementation beginning the school year 2022 - 2023 of the Senior High School (SHS) Work Immersion Preparedness Tool, which is an offshoot of the study Validation of SHS Work Immersion Students’ Preparedness Instrument by SDO Cavite Province Education Program Supervisors. I. SCOPE OF THE POLICY ‘This policy is intended to guide schools in the DepEd Cavite Province in effectively organizing and managing the SHS Work Immersion implementation under the K to12 Basic Education Curriculum. The policy provides a detailed instruction and procedures on the use of Senior High School (SHS) Work Immersion Preparedness Tool beginning the school year 2022 - 2023 to be provided to Grade 12 learners prior to the conduct of actual work immersion. This policy also benefits other stakeholders such as industry partners, schools, parents, and learners by providing comprehensive guidelines on how the preparedness tool will be used, so that they may contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of SHS Work Immersion implementation and improvement. & cavite Capitol Compound, Brey. DEFINITION OF TERMS 1, WORK IMMERSION - refers to the subject of the Senior High School Curriculum, which involves hands-on experience or work simulation in which learners can apply their competencies and acquired knowledge relevant to their track. 2. PREPAREDNESS - refers to the state of being ready for learners for deployment to Industry Partners in terms of skills and behavior. 3. INDUSTRY PARTNERS - public or private institutions or organizations that are able and willing to lend their expertise and resources; and enter into agreement with any of the DepEd or Non-DepEd offices and/or schools. 4. SUBJECT GROUP HEAD / SHS COORDINATOR/ SHS WORK IMMERSION COORDINATOR. is the school personnel responsible for overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the SHS Work Immersion Program 5. WORK IMMERSION TEACHER - is the school personnel assigned to supervise the learners at the Work Immersion Venue and collect data. 6. HOME-BASED IMMERSION - The learners shall perform their activities at home but will be monitored regularly by Immersion SHS teachers in coordination and collaboration with learning facilitator/s at home. 7. SCHOOL-BASED IMMERSION - The school shall provide a mock environment given the available school facilities for the learners. Iv. POLICY STATEMENT The primary goal of implementing the utilization of the SHS Work Immersion Preparedness Tool is to measure the preparedness and readiness of students for actual deployment to various industry partners tailored within the context of the school and community. Further, it also aims to identify the areas of strengths and improvement opportunities for learners as a basis for intervention activities. V. PROCEDURE A. E, Work Immersion teachers will ensure that all Grade 12 learners about to take Work Immersion will answer the preparedness tool. S/he will administer the tool. F. Once data is inputted into the form, the SHS Work Immersion Coordinator or Focal Person will collect, interpret, and disseminate information gathered from the Tool to School Head, Subject Group Head, and Work Immersion teachers. S/he will prepare the summary of results with interpretation (see Annex B). G. MONITORING AND EVALUATION ‘The Office of the Curriculum and Instruction Division will monitor the implementation of the policy, in particular, the EPS in-charge of SHS Curriculum.
