APPLICATION

1. That I am Swapandeep aged 27 years, resident of India.

2. That I am peace-loving and a believer of humanity. Since, childhood I have been

raised and taught to serve mankind.

3. That I am a native of Punjab, India. While I was in Punjab I was one of the members
of Shiromani Akali Dal based in the city of Amritsar in Punjab. The head of
Shiromani Akali Dal is Simranjeet Singh Maan the major motive of the Shiromani
Akali Dal is protecting humanity and to uplift the unprivileged.

4. That I was a small worker in this institution and was allotted to paste the posters,
awake people, guide them and advise them to join Shiromani Akali Dal and to
contribute their time in humanity.

5. That I joined Shiromani Akali Dal on 5 th June 2015 as this particular date has a certain
significance in Sikh History. From 01st June 1984 to 05th June 1984 there was
holocaust in which around 17 thousand Sikhs were killed and slaughtered.

6. That on 05th June 2015 I visited Amritsar and got an opportunity to hear the speeches
of the members of Shiromani Akali Dal while listening to them I got very much
emotional and decided to be a part of Shiromani Akali Dal and to dedicate my life to
serve humanity and help the needy.

7. That on 02nd December 2015 I along with few other members were instructed to paste
the posters in the nearby village so, we reached the village to paste the posters. I went
a bit far from the other workers to paste the posters as I was pasting a group of five
males having BJP party’s batch on their T-Shirt came out of a Mahindra Scorpio Car
and started threatening me to leave Shiromani Akali Dal. I straight away refused to do
so.

8. That out of five males one male slapped me on the right side of my face and I
immediately started calling the other workers unfortunately, the males snatched my
phone and gave me a warning to leave Shiromani Akali Dal.

9. That I rushed towards the other workers and informed them about the incident that
had taken place. They consoled me and gave me assurance that this type of incident
will not happen again in future and insisted me to not leave Shiromani Akali Dal.

10. That on 30th April 2016 I along with other members were in a village and were
advising and guiding gathered people about the motive of Shiromani Akali Dal and
encouraging them to join us so, that we can reach every corner to serve humanity.
11. That in the late Evening on 30th April 2016 I was on my way to reach back home. I
was blocked by those males who threatened me on 02nd December 2015 but this time
they were not 5 they were 4 in number with same BJP batch on their T-Shirt.

12. That all the four males brutally beat me up and I started screaming for help. I was
told by one of the males to stop screaming else he will kill me. Again, I was told that
if they see me again they will kill me.
13. That I and my family went to police station to report the incident but the officers
refused to file a complaint due to political pressure. I then decided to leave Punjab to
safeguard my life and lived in New Delhi for a period of one month.

14. That on 02nd June 2016 I left India as I got Schengen Visa and I reached Paris. I got
home sick and could not survive in Paris so, I came back to Punjab, India at my
parent’s residence. My parents were very much scared as they have also been attacked
a couple of times and advised me to stay at New Delhi.

15. That I reached New Delhi and started searching for work for my livelihood. As and
when I tried to work somewhere the verification was being done at Punjab. Those
males starting getting the information of my whereabouts due to the verification and
did not let me work anywhere in New Delhi.

16. That I was having a Valid Visa so, I decided to go to Europe. On 28 th December 2016
I reached Europe and lived in Austria for a week soon after I was called by my friend
to Poland. I got a temporary Residence Card.

17. That I my temporary Residence Card was not extended and I started getting threats
that now, I will be killed in Poland. I did not get any work at Poland so, I had no
money to eat and I even could not go back to Punjab, India.

18. That I started going to Gurudwara and one of my friends advised me to reach The
United States of America and seek Asylum.

19. That presently I am in the United Stated of America and requesting the concerned
authorities to take my application of Asylum into consideration.
