REFLECTION:
Our God is indeed alive. He is active. He is involved in our day-to-day life and in the life of the
world. In fact, He has a plan for the world and He has a plan for you and me.
This gospel clearly tells that if ever we are in doubt, just like Zechariah, we should just remain calm
and listen to God for he has a plan for us. We only have to do what He tells us, and an instrument
of His will come to guide us and bring us back to the path that He desires. We should not question
His plans but instead, we should keep our faith in Him and also be an instrument to remind people
of their faith in God.
This gospel also explains how John would be the instrument to spread the word of God, to bring
knowledge of salvation to people and to guide those souls in the dark through the light. It states
how John will be the prophet who will bring back the people’s faith to God.
Whatever our situation is, no matter how big our problems are, God will come to intervene because
He is faithful, merciful and powerful. He had promised to show mercy to His people and He will
fulfill that promise. He will set all of us free from our enemies. Let us believe and trust in Him.
