CHAPTER 3

RESULTS

Presented in this chapter are the results, interpretation and analysis of

findings on the entrepreneurial skills and business performance of the night-

market vendors in Maco, Davao de Oro. This chapter moreover presents and

pinpoints if there is a significant relationship between the entrepreneurial skills of

night-market vendors and their business performance in selling. This chapter

discussed the levels of each variables Business Management Skills, Marketing

Skills, Financial Management Skills, Start-up Skills, Human Resource

Management Skills, Technical Skills, Leadership Skills, Social and intrapersonal

skills and Business performance with an indicator of sales.

Level of Entrepreneurial Skills

The level of the Entrepreneurial skills was computed and interpreted

based on the obtained mean rating per indicator: start-up skills business

management skills, marketing skills, financial management skills, human

resource management Skills, technical skills, leadership skills, social and

intrapersonal skills

The Table 1 below shows the independent variable which is the

Entrepreneurial Skills with its following indicators: Start-up Skills Business

Management Skills, Marketing Skills, Financial Management Skills, , Human

Resource Management Skills, Technical Skills, Leadership Skills, Social and

intrapersonal skills which answered the first objective of the study. The table also

shows the mean of each indicator, start-up skills with a 4.11 mean business

management skills with a 4.47 mean, marketing skills with a 4.25 mean, financial

management skills with a 3.81 mean, , human resource management skills with a

3.70 mean, technical skills with 4.00 mean, leadership skills with a 4.05 mean,

social and intrapersonal skills with a 4.15 mean with an overall mean of 4.07

which means that the entrepreneurial skills of the Maco night-market vendors are

high.

Level of Business Performance

The level of Business Performance was interpreted based on the

observed rating of its indicator that is Sales.

Presented in Table 2 is the level of Business performance of night-market

vendors, which answered the second objective of the study. It shown the overall

mean which is 53728.57 and overall standard deviation which is 37422.06. This

meant that the ratings of the sales of the respondents were low.

Relationship of Entrepreneurial Skills and Entrepreneurial skills of Night-

Market Vendors

 Table 3 presented the test result of the relationship between both

variables involved in the study. The overall p-value which is 0.945 is greater than

the level of significance which is 0.05. Thus, the researchers decided to accept

the null hypothesis of the study. The overall r-value is 0.009 which means that

the relationship between entrepreneurial skills and business performance is not

big enough to be statistically significant. In summary, there is no significant

relationship between entrepreneurial skills of Maco night-market vendors and

their business performance.
