Steel tubes for for precision applications Subject index for standards on CD-ROM Foreword and information for users of this handbook Standards for steel are changing constantly, and many national standards have been replaced by European standards. There are now so many essential steel standards that the contents of this hand- book have, for reasons of space, been split between the printed book and the CD-ROM. The book contains a complete table of contents, and the index refers to both the book and the CD-ROM The standards printed in the book have been abridged, but include all the essential information on scope, ordering, chemical composition, properties and processing. In order to enable easy ref- erence to the full-text standards, the original numbering of sections, figures and tables remains unchanged. Sections dealing with standardized aspects such as testing, customer complaints, and giving general information on internal faults and surface finishes have only been included if they are particularly important. The full-text versions of these standards should therefore be referred to for contracts to supply steel products. ‘The standards included on the CD-ROM are reproduced in full Together, the handbook and CD-ROM cover 174 DIN Standards and provide engineers, technicians, buyers and sellers of steel with a compact yet comprehensive overview of the properties of steel and steel products covered in current standards.
