Subject: Clean-Up Procedure After Motor Burnout
on the RTAA Air-Cooled Chiller
Introduction:
‘The purpose of this service bulletin is to provide information on clean-up procedures after a motor burnout on
the FTAA Air-Cooled Chile.
Discussion:
Heat Generated by a motor falure causes oil and refrigerant to break down and form acids and sludges which
contaminate the system. This can result in reduced heat tranefer capabiities and assoclated problems i not
cleaned properly.
Note: The Trane Company urges all HVAC servicers working on Trane equipment, or any manufacturer's
products, make every effort to eliminate, f possible, or vigorously reduce the omission of CFG, HCFC and HEC
{itigerants to the atmasphere resulting from installation, operation, routine maintenance, or major service on
this equipment. Always actin a responsible manner to conserve reftigerants for continued use even when
‘acceptable alternatives are avaliable.
