Stating Like and Dislikes

Stating like and dislikes berarti menyatakan/menginformasikan bahwa anda suka atau tidak suka
terhadap suatu hal tertentu.
Variasi kosakata untuk menyatakan like misalnya
 I like…  I’m mad about…
 I love…  I enjoy…
 I adore…  I’m keen on…
 I’m crazy about…
Variasi kosakata untuk menyatakan dislike misalnya
 I don’t like…  I loathe…
 I dislike…  I can’t bear…
 I hate…  I can’t stand…
Misal jika ingin menginfokan bahwa anda tidak suka aroma buah durian:
- I can’t stand durian’s smell, it really smells bad
(saya tidak suka bau durian, baunya sangat tidak enak)
- I can’t stand listening to EDM music, so noisy.

Dalam bahasa Inggris ada beberapa hal yang harus diperhatikan dalam stating like and dislikes, yaitu:
1. When these expressions are followed by a verb, the latter is put in the -ing form.
Examples:
"I like listening to music."
"I hate wearing sunglasses."
2. Note that" very much" & " a lot" always come after the things you like.
Examples:
"I like basketball very much/a lot. NOT" I like very much/a lot basketball."
3. Be careful when you use "I don't mind..."
Examples:
"Do you mind playing football?"
"No, I don't mind." (Although it's in a negative form, it means that it's ok for me. I neither love it
nor hate it.)
