Four Seasons Pass and Future

Four Seasons Pass and Future

Synopsis and common thread

This work is an original story adapted to the music of Antonio Vivaldi, the story is divided into
12 parts and is set in the year 2020/2021 narrates each month of the last year using each
movement of the music of the four seasons.

The theme of this work is the pandemic that we live during this period of more than a year,
and how it has affected the life of our protagonist, our goal is that people who see the work
feel that the protagonist can be each of them, that they feel identified with the situations they
are seeing.

Within this main theme there are multiple situations and feelings that we manage to adapt to
the music, such as the feeling of walking through the deserted streets, to the sadness of not
being able to see our loved ones, the desire not to continue living, and the hope that life goes
on and the future looks promising.

The common thread is the music, from the music the script was adapted. For example, in the
second act (Summer) for Vivaldi represented the drought and the storm, we adapted the
music to the chaos that the world lived, which in the same way can be a storm in a different
way.

The four seasons, are four violin concertos published in 1723 by Antonio Vivaldi, has been the
descriptive musical work par excellence.
With music, Vivaldi recreates animals and moments of nature, also over time was adapted
verses to tell the viewer what is happening, today remains a masterpiece.

Seeing the ease of a work that musically is universal, we find it perfect for our proposal.

Objective

create a work of entertainment with a message of conscience for life. also mix the arts and

JUSTIFICATION

In the technical part we mix performing arts, visual arts and music. In addition to creating a
story, we want to show that music written in 1700 can be adapted to the 21st century and that
it can be mixed with technological elements and that the history of the most commercial music
will be combined with the topic of the moment.

Is Vivaldi Past and Future a PAI Project?

We can easily say yes, since we joined several artistic disciplines: Music, Visual Arts, Acting.
and we have managed to create a show where everything works together as a single product.

It is not a classical music concert, nor is it a theatrical performance, nor is it a film. But in this
work you can get everything interacting perfectly. We also managed to create a product that
we believe can have a commercial impact.

Since December we started working on the idea of talking about the pandemic, and through
each meeting the script took shape.

The creative development of the visuals went hand in hand with the story.

We didn't want it to be just a concert with visuals or a movie. Our goal was to make a work
that could have a commercial impact to use as a working medium after our studies.

The challenges of the project:

Finding musicians willing to cooperate.

Synchronize the live music with the animations.

Synchronize the music with the actor's performance.

Another challenge was to find a theater, for this we had meetings with Mr. Benoit Pabis,
owner of the Projection Room located at Rue de Praetere, 55, 1180 Uccle.

Another difficulty was that sometimes we wanted to do too many things that were too
expensive, but there were no resources to do it, so we went to a simpler plan and without
losing quality.

I am very satisfied with the result of the project. It has been a very good and demanding
experience, both artistic and human.

The material is very entertaining, commercial and artistic, I think that whoever sees the
presentation in the future will enjoy the experience.

During my personal creative process, I took the time to analyze the score and decide how to
adapt the script to the musical style. I also technically developed different ways to better
interpret what happens on stage.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The script Technical:

Spring

First movement:

Scenery of forest nature, photos of birds that can interact with the orchestra, introduction to
the environment with lights and what is projected on stage while the violins interact like birds.
protagonist walks past the scene in the final middle part and interact with the music. min 2.50
then the movement ends.

---Lights out---

Second movement

Moment of television bad news, the protagonist sits down to watch them on a television that
get or that is projected. The protagonist shows indifference and a good time to drink vacation,
free time. And he doesn't think the bad news will get any more, he can interact with objects
that we have as he thinks to play sports or spend time painting. He can open a bottle and
celebrate that he has vacations showing a little criticism of the unconsciousness of the
moment. The music has an ironic sound within the melody of the violin the viola sounds
strong and ironically within the melody.

Third movement

Connect with his hobbies and start painting while he has a drink and presents an attitude of
joy for having time for him, waiting for the time It will pass short while he paints in his world on
other screens he can pass the fake news on the streets empty and what happens in the world
lights out and the actor comes out.

Summer

First movement

Movement without the actor just to show the chaos and destruction images interact with the
violin
warm colors, brick, that inspire heaviness and boredom

Second movement

The actor will be sleeping, I propose that instead of it being an image the one that moves is
an image
that is fixed of him sleeping and the actor makes a performance doing allegory to the dream a
dance
interacting with the music.

---Lights out---

Third movement

the option if we want to use the protagonist in this mov would be that when it is hidden in the
previous mov already is in position to be in front of the television and enters the scene seeing
the chaos and destruction showing feelings that it was not how I thought at the beginning but
that reality is very serious and complicated that there are people dying etc etc etc down the
lights to prepare for fall.

Fall

First movement

Party by web cams we can order the video recordings of the conversation when we record
seems to interact with the music all the friends leave and he is alone. He has confusion and
radical peaks of mood swings. His head has been affected by the situation. We can use some
part to make a joke in the fast part of the music something that takes the viewer out of the
Stres, in the slow part he has been left alone (part that Isma likes) he begins to have bad
thoughts at the end reconnects only one person can be his father or mother and ends the
movement ends like that joy will be ephemeral.

The actor comes out.

Second movement

Interaction with video kinek and projections that react to audio although it could be without the
actor only figures that they come and go maybe playing with images of the covid

Third movement

The actor enters the scene as if he came from shoping and decides to continue painting
expresses an illusive joy as everything happened in the painting reflects indecision paints
things and erase desperately drinks alcohol he has the first thought of killing himself.

Winter

First movement

Suicide performance rope chair cowardice indesicion to do it or not. There is a dance in the
middle of the fight and rejection with the rope almost gives up but decides to live

Second movement
actor looking at a window Admire the winter cold colors use lights actor facing the public and
positive things are projected first photos of the vaccine families already vaccinated nostalgia
to remember the hard year grateful for being alive, it would be the end of the actor

Third movement

--EPILOGUE--

Last move could be used as to pass credits.

The names of the musicians within the images that are passing Visual count of the pandemic
all the images take us to the cascade of final images and end up in a lot of light.
