Statistics is necessary for teachers to evaluate the effectiveness of different teaching techniques, monitor student and teacher progress, and ensure quality education. It allows comparisons between students of different ages, abilities, and intelligence levels. Statistics can identify why students similar in other respects achieve differently in certain subjects. Statistics is used to summarize collected data through numbers and graphs, including measures like mean and standard deviation. These statistical analysis methods are applied to assessment to better communicate inquiry results and measure students' understanding of probability and statistics in response to educational reforms.

1. As a future teacher, why do you think statistics is necessary?
- As a future teacher, Statistics is an important subject to some teachers. Some
statistics are important to teachers because they can help us to identify which techniques are more effective than others. Statistics is important to the teaching profession because it helps a teacher know when teaching has effectively been done. These reasons could include: ensuring the quality of education is being kept high, monitor student's progress, monitor the teacher's progress or success, and check the effectiveness of a subject. Statistics helps in the individual comparison of students differing in respect of their ages, abilities and intelligence levels. It is statistics which tells us why thus students who are similar in every other respect yet do not show similar achievement is one particular subject.
2. What, how and when will apply statistics in assessment?
- Used to summarize a collection of data by describing what was observed using
numbers or graphs. It include mean and standard deviation. Useful in communicating the results of an inquiry, particularly experiments or surveys. To change in response to calls for reform, newer methods of assessment are being used to measure students' understanding of probability and statistics and their ability to achieve goals such as being able to explore data and to think critically using statistical reasoning.
