Foundationalism
Belief that arguments should be certain, proven, and
unquestionably true and can be used as a justification
Radical Skepticism
Philosophical view that deems every human
knowledge as impossible. For Descartes, this is the
methodic doubt.
Christianism
Belief in the Christian God and doctrines; Descartes'
ends and means in his house of knowledge
Foundationalism-Radical Skepticism-Catholicism
Descartes restarted from the beginning, then doubted
everything.
He found that our senses are not always reliable and there
may be an evil force forcing us to see false reality.
Humans are as they are because of a benevolent God,
therefore all that we perceive clearly is true.

BODY

Interaction
Descartes believed that
the mind and the body
interacted through the
pineal gland, a part of
the brain that is believed
to be most associated
with the mind.
Conclusion
The mind and the body separately
are incomplete substances. They
work together through an
intimate union, through a relation
of act and potency to form one
whole, complete human being.
Therefore, the body is a God-
created system with an ends of a
union with the mind.
