The "Proletarians to the Fore" is a poem written by Digie Ruchyat. In the title, the term
"Proletarians" collectively addresses the working class which is often used with reference to Marxism or
the Marxist Approach. The Marxist theory opposes the idea of capitalism which is an economic system
led by the Bourgeoisie or capitalists. This system abuses the proletariats by paying a wage that is not even
enough for their survival.

The majority of the poem describes the effort exerted by the working class and how they are
underestimated by the capitalists. Their efforts are too much, yet remain unrecognized. The difference
between the lives of the two social classes was evident in the poem. The author described the working
class as people who do all the work, are constantly struggling with finance, and are building the luxurious
buildings that the bourgeoisie comfortably live in. Basically, they make money grow. On the other hand,
the bourgeoisie lives comfortably as they benefit from the money they get from owning properties. Their
greed is what allows them to do so.

Come to think of it, both the bourgeoisie and proletariat are in immense debt. The sole difference
is that the latter fails to compensate because they are not rewarded enough while the capitalists fail to do
so due to the fact that they plan to increase their capital by exploiting and under-compensating the
proletariats.

The last line of the poem "A push for renewal, for a gasp of breath." suggested that the proletarians
were potentially revolutionary. In their revolution, they will attempt to overthrow the bourgeoisie and
replace capitalism with socialism. Hopefully, they will be able to successfully fight for what is right and
their rights.
