This study examined the relationship between social media usage and loneliness in college students. A survey was administered to 200 students measuring their levels of social media use as well as feelings of loneliness. The results showed that higher levels of social media usage, especially passive usage, were correlated with greater feelings of loneliness and depression in college students.
